Absolutely loved the fish. I had croaker, which I’d never heard of, but was the perfect white fish, nice and juicy, flaky, and even a little sweet.
Perfectly grilled on the outdoor bbq, perfectly seasoned and had a lovely little slightly garlicky oil for marinade. My missus had the squid which was also delicious. All sourced fresh from the local waters.
Have that with some fries and the octopus salad to start and you’ve just had some of the best fish in the Algarve.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very tasty, fresh fish- best one we’ve had in the Al Garve. We had an octopus salad, croaker fish and grilled squid. All of them were perfect.
The owner, Rui and his daughter are really welcoming and fun and made our experience great.
Totally recommended and we’ll return next time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rui’s is what makes me want to visit my in laws in Portugal again and again. Perfectly seasoned grilled fish, served with salads and chips paired with some amazing house vinho verde. All at prices you won’t get a decent sandwich at in London. What makes all of this even better is the friendly staff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just spent 3 weeks in Fuseta. We tried A do Rui our first night there after reading some of the reviews. We agree that Yes, the fish is grilled to perfection and if all you want is fish, then you will get a very generous, more than you can eat, portion of grilled fish! But every type of fish is squirted with the same garlic, oil sauce .. nothing innovative going on here. And if you want some nourishing vegetables or salad, forget it. The vegetables were boiled beyond recognition and inedible -- brussels sprouts that were completely soggy and grey instead of crunchy and green. I'm not sure where others are used to eating, but we like fresh salads (more than just onion and pale tomatoes) and green vegetables and so we did not return to this restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a cataplana and a fish rice that has a very nice flavor. They also have fresh fish to grill and it seems people like it alot. They restaurant doesn't make reservations so I will suggest to arrive early to get a table and also to have more fish options. We had 3 dished with drinks and we payed 80 for 5 people.
If you have the rice the size is good for 3 people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We eat here regularly. You cannot reserve a table. So get there early. Inside or out. Fresh, quality fish Is here. Barbecued outside you can see it cooking. Salad, chips, boiled potatoes and vegetables to choose to go with it. Tasty large prawns and the succulent salmon was our choice yesterday. Starters and desserts are available too. ?
