★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Merendeira is a very typical Portuguese place, where amongst other things, you can get the famous chouriço bread, cabbage soup and rice pudding as a menu at very good price. Heaven on earth.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The caldo verde soup, chorizo bread and the cod fish pastries are the greatest things of this "quick stop" snack bar. The rest is not worth it, and there is bot much more available to drink or eat rather than those. The sugar covered pastry "filhós" is rubbery, so totally not worth it. This place also deserves much better lighting... the cheap halogen white blue lights makes u feel inside the fridge. A bit of warmth touch, here and there, could make this place much more appealing than what it is, but again, its really a quick stop place last resort, when you suddenly become hungry and don't want to sit for 1 hour to dine or lunch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is good and they have nice deals. Caldo Verde, arroz doce, a drink, a bacalhau snack and some bread for about €5.50. But they don't take card, only cash.
