Much work still needs to be done on cleaning and conservation of the Buçaco forest. The State should intervene to improve this fantastic space.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prachtig gebied en een fraai kasteel. Voor de natuurliefhebber en specifiek de planten en bomen liefhebber een "must" om te zien in Portugal. Zeer oude bomen uit diverse delen van de wereld. Helaas wel wat schade door een enorme storm die op de berg heeft gewoed in 2013 maar met beleid hersteld. Vochtig klimaat bos wat natuurlijk ook ongewoon is voor Portugal. Neem de tijd en zoek ook de kleinere paden op en ga op ontdekkingstocht, u zult versteld staan wat u tegenkomt. Het kasteel en kerk ook bijzonder net als de kleine kluizenaars huisjes op de berg, alsof ze net vertrokken zijn. Maandags gesloten, vermijdt de weekenden om echt de stilte en rust te ervaren.
Beautiful area and a beautiful castle. For the nature lover and specifically the plant and tree lover a "must" to see in Portugal. Very old trees from various parts of the world. Unfortunately, some damage from a huge storm that raged on the mountain in 2013 but with policy. Humid climate forest which of course is also unusual for Portugal. Take your time and also look up the smaller trails and go on a discovery tour, you will be amazed at what you encounter. The castle and church are also special, just like the little hermit houses on the mountain, as if they have just left. Closed Mondays, avoids the weekends to really experience the silence and tranquility.
