★ ★ ★ ★ ★ horrível! eles me transferiram para três números diferentes sempre me dizendo que não podiam me dar informações sobre meu seguro. Incrível. Ligar para a linha é sempre uma perda de tempo. O seguro funciona, mas se você precisar de informações e tiver que contestar uma decisão errada, não há como obter ajuda. Minha apólice diz que um tipo de cirurgia é coberto, mas eles insistem no contrário, embora meu contrato seja claro sobre isso. Claro, ninguém sabe nada no telefone e ninguém responde aos e-mails
horrible! they transferred me to three different numbers always telling me they couldn't give me information about my insurance. Incredible. Calling the hotline is always a waste of time. Insurance works, but if you need information and have to contest a wrong decision, there is no way to get help. My policy says one type of surgery is covered, but they insist otherwise, even though my contract is clear about that. Of course, no one knows anything on the phone and no one responds to emails.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Como antigo funcionário da Companhia de Seguros Tranquilidade, tenho um seguro de Saúde, todas as despesas que tinha e que são cobertas pelo Seguro, eu pessoalmente dirigia-me a uma Delegação da Companhia, que por sua vez fazia chegar ao destino todos os meus Documentos. Mas com a brilhante ideia de encerrar Delegações e criar APP's da treta que não ajudam ninguém, só no Ano de 2021, ainda estou á espera de ser reembolsado de despesas que enviei através dessa aplicação. Este Ano só vou enviar despesas por correio e Registado C/ aviso de recepção, assim, não podem dizer que não chegou nada ao vosso conhecimento.
As a former employee of Companhia de Seguros Tranquilidade, I have health insurance, all the expenses that I had and that are covered by the Insurance, I personally went to a Delegation of the Company, which in turn sent all my Documents to their destination. . But with the brilliant idea of closing Delegations and creating crap APP's that don't help anyone, just in the Year 2021, I'm still waiting to be reimbursed for expenses I sent through that application. This year I will only send expenses by post and registered with acknowledgment of receipt, so you cannot say that nothing has come to your attention.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I will divide this review into 3 parts namely: Consultation Review, Operations (Curgical and Ambulatory) and Travel/International Coverage. So, starting with Consultations. This is where advancecare shines. It is very easy to book appointments and all the hospitals and clinics, doctors etc supported by Advancecare, all always works flawless, just make sure at all costs you always show your card when you arrive for your appointment. Next, Operations and Ambulatory. Horrible experience already. Up to 12 hours before my procedure (that I had to wait 4 months for! Remove a mothermark), no news, nothing. The authorization was pending that my doctor 4 months ago already requested. I was told they usually give the final OK 4-5 days prior the procedure. So you have to call them on their phone which costs approx 30 cents per minute and the waiting time is incredibly long, only to find out that you are afterwall for whatever odd reason NOT allowed to do the procedure. They wanted to set a trap where people still go, they think that it is covered until procedure is done, and then they find out it was not covered and you have to pay from your own pocket. Off to the next topic. International coverage. The international coverage and this is the best you can get in Portugal (the one I have) is the biggest joke in history. Here it is, they ONLY pay max. 15,000 euro for any type of accident overseas, that is all, basically, 50% you pay, 50% they pay, so if you have a bad accident in the US for instance or UK (where all is expensive), they pay, that is, if they even pay, 15,000 euros the most, so a procedure that costs 40,000 euros which is easily reachable in an expensive country, they pay 15,000, you pay 25,000 euros !!! This is a complete joke. Furthermore, you have to pay all in advance and they do NOT offer a coordination between hospital and healthcare company if let's say your credit card limit is too low or even, if you do not have the cash. It is a horrible degraded system. To all expats, make sure you keep an international healthcare plan from whereever you are from that covers up to 1 million $, and that has a coordination in place between hospitals and health care provider.
To conclude: Get this plan for consultation purposes in Portugal only, other than that, it is a COMPLETE joke, and very bad and slow customer care.
Edit: Just rated 1 star. The second postponed operation due to no feedback yet from Advancecare, I cancelled the procedure. I will use my foreign international healthplan that at least does what they promise. Imagine the thousands of people in my situation, I am sure for one or the other it is too late because of this incompetent company.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible! customer service is non existent. email are ignored or replied after more than a month (and surprise surprise the answer is not relevant to your question. Over the phone you must speak Portuguese and usually they provide a solution that is again not relevant. The website could be better. Location cannot be displayed on maps, you cannot search directly a specific clinic to know if it part or not of the network. Reimbursement however are fast however if it is not clear why some expenses where not covered, forget about that because you need to contact them and you will get a copy and paste answer
