Algarve Golden Properties

Unfortunately, our experience with Algarve Golden Properties was terrible. Since we arrived we noticed many things not working: the coffee machine, the air conditioning, the roll-up shutter in the window (I ended up waking up every day at 5 am because of the light getting inside the room), the towels broken and the locker in the door. I immediately told Richard, the owner, about the problems and he told us a maintenance guy would have come the day after. He asked to leave the keys under the carpet (so unprofessional and dangerous!!). At 7pm, when we where still at the beach, the owner texted me the maintenance guy couldn't come and he rescheduled at 9am the day of our checkout (10am). I would call this a joke!! Above all, the cleaning rules, especially now with Covid19, are not respected. The bed sheets were full of hair, ants all around the house and dead bugs smashed on the walls (such as spiders and mosquitos). The bread toaster was full of crumbs accumulated since a very long time. In the toilet, the bags from the bin were full of hairs (they probably emptied without changing the 0.001€ plastic bag). What surprised me the most was Richard, the owner, that didn't even try to find us a solution. He was very worried and insisting at the beginning to get the 200€ deposit in case you break something, but then he didn't care at all about our stay in a place that we paid to be functional and clean. I definitely wouldn't recommend you to stay in this place if you don't want to ruin your holidays and be teased from Richard.

So far I have been in 3 of their apartments and they were all very comfortable, spotless and fully equipped. Richard and Helena have been very professional and attentive, they have helped me a lot with all my queries. I totally recommend Algarve Golden Properties and I will definately book with them again my next time in Lagos.

Awesome location, awesome apartment to spend holidays in Portimão / Algarve with family or friends. Rooms are very nice, soundproof, large and have ACs... the washrooms are spacious and very clean. The balconies are nice... the kitchen is well equipped (have coffee maker, oven, induction, dishwasher, washing machine, big refrigerator, toaster, griller, utensils etc). The apartment is well maintained and organized and nicely decorated. The beds, sofa and chairs are very comfortable. Supermarkets, McDonald and other restaurants are nearby. The beach is also nearby. I would definitely recommend it.

Won't come again. Location is great, in case you want to be close to the Marina and the most touristic part of Lagos. The apartment was rather basic for our taste with a nice terrace. We found no space in the cupboard in the master bed room, torn furniture, an unclean fridge with open ice cream packages in the freezer compartment, a dish washer that didn't work and ants all over when we checked in to the apartment on the second floor. The answer of the managing agent was that there are way more ants this year than usual and fastest would be if we buy a spray and apply it generously. He might be right but we didn't think pest control is within our responsibility. To find the amazing pool we had to ask for directions first because it is not just for residents of the condominium but also for guests of a close by hotel. So you walk to the Marina and about 100 m further you will find a separate entrance. This had the consequence that we needed our Covid certificates or tests before entereing the outside pool area. There are points that you have written here that we have absolutely ZERO control. 1. A few ants, or any type of insect. During hotter months, in some areas of the country you should already be aware that a few insects will always be a possibility, if you don't keep clean, you will to need to use insecticide spray, this is why you will find hundreds of sprays sold in the supermarket. When you decide to live in the apartment and you don't keep the apartment clean, then ants and insects will naturally start to appear. 2. During the pandemic, you also should already be aware of the latest information provided by the local authorities and national government. You informed me that you are a resident of Portugal, but you neglect to understand the rules provided by the Portuguese authorities. 3. The distance to the swimming pool is just 1 minute walking extremely slowly. However, if you walk fast it is maybe just less than 30 seconds. Simply leave the building, turn left, go forwards, turn left, then turn left again to enter the pool area. It's super easy. I am happy to see that you share my opinion. It is mainly a hygiene issue. And as I wrote we discovered the ants at check-in. 2. I am not surprised that you did not understand my critisism. It is your responsibility to tell your customers that the pool is not just for the condominium. It is for guests of a nearby hotel as well. That is why COVID rules apply. 3. Thank you. This information would be helpful before or latest at the moment when guests arrive in your appartment. We had to ask for this information first.

Cozy flat by the beach with large balcony and BBQ facilities. Location is great in a relaxed neighborhood and Lagos centre 5' drive. Plenty water an other activities nearby. Hosts very responsive and kind. Fully recommend.

Had a lovely October break in Portugal. Accommodation plenty big enough for our family of 4. Went to quite a few beaches along the coast but the one nearest the apartment, 5-10 mins walk down a dirt track from the pool, was our favourite. If you want to go into Lagos old town for lots of restaurants and bars then it's a few euro in an Uber at non peak times. Loved the apartment, loved the area. Highly recommended.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Meia Praia. The condo is located just minutes from the beach in a very quiet neighborhood. The unit is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The porch is a very pleasant spot to sit and watch the beautiful sunrises over the ocean! Downtown Lagos, large grocery stores and more beaches are a 12 minute drive away! Will definitely stay again.

This apartment was in a good location for most amenities. It was comfortable and well appointed. Two major attributes were, it had a garage and a lift. We both felt very comfortable there and have rebooked again. The owners were very helpful.
