As a sports person I was completely devastated for almost a year with lower back and constant sciatica pain, leaving me unable to do much more than short walks. When I was recommended to see Dr Miguel Costa he immediately sent me for an MRI which showed a herniated disk L5-S1 and he quickly prescribed medication to relief the pain which helped but also the treatment of Nucleaplasty with Ozone into the herniated disk and ablation of specific nerves under fluoroscopy. The treatment was August 2020 and I have had no reoccurrences of the sciatica or lower pain relating to the herniation since then and have resumed pilates, cycling and running again as before

I fractured two vertebrae in my back following open heart surgery and after many abortive attempts to find someone who could help me I was recommended to Algarve Pain Centre. Dr Miguel Costa was so kind and patient and following two procedures to relieve my symptoms it was a case of third time lucky and I cannot thank him enough.
