★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Feels like having a meal with family! The owners, Jack and Maria do Cèu are the most welcoming hosts and they truly make you feel at home.
Jack is an amazing Chef, he travelled all around the world and brought the flavours back with him into his crazy-delicious dishes.
The prawns in his signature sauce are incredible and so are his pickled olives.
He also gave us a taste of his picañas and we will definitely be back for a full plate next time, as well as taking a ton of those olives back home with us!
11/10 for the culinary and human experience

Had the shrimp in special sauce one night & returned for the picana another night (was only there for a few days and went here 2x)Made with so much love, best flavors I had in Portugal. And Chef Jack + his wife who run the place…. WOW! They make you feel like you’re in their house. Exceptional human beings, cooks, friends, artists, singers, and beyond… prepare to be amazed. 10/10

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place. Amazing people - the owners are a local couple. Visiting this place was like visiting old friends at home. The owner is cooking food by himself. We ordered mussels and a spaghetti with shrimps. Everything was so good. If you are looking for calm, local place where you can talk about life - do not miss it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a real experience. A Portugese chef and his Brazilian wife will welcome you to their rustic restaurant for a home cooked meal. The chef stands in the middle of the restaurant cooking your meals and talking to the customers. The food was rich but extremely delicious. A slightly different and great experience while you’re in Ericeira!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! What an experience at Alternativa Exotica! The chef creates a unique gastronomical experience for all the patrons. The restaurant is off the beaten path and not a particularly large restaurant but well worth it. We ordered the clams appetizer, shrimp pasta and picanha steak - everything was so delicious! The house red is superb as well. His wife provides excellent service. If you are in Ericeira, I strongly recommend this restaurant. It is a must-do!
