★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do NOT use this lab if you are hoping to travel to and from the UK. They will not provide your tests results in English, Spanish, and/or French as required by the UK government - only Portugese. They only performed Covid tests at a location with no address, they have very limited hours, and never answer any phone or emails. There was no opportunity to request our results in English. We sent many emails, called every phone number we could find - no one ever responded or picked up the phone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrived at aqualabs (Randox) this morning for PCR Covid test for our 12 year old daughter we didn’t have an appointment but they fit us in straight away ., extremely friendly and helpful staff highly recommend this for testing in algarve. We had been turned away from test centre in tent down the road as we didn’t have appointment (not much of a price difference ) and no big queue…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly, quick and efficient for blood & urine tests. Quick turnaround for standard test results. Must book for PCR test. Best to go into the clinic to make appointment. PCR result back in aporox 24 hours. Avoid visiting clinic early morning as that seems busiest time

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst PCR test experience ever! 1st I spent hours trying to reach them by phone to book an appointment. Took overall 2 days!Once I final managed to speak to someone, the appointment couldn’t be confirmed. You have first to send an email with your information. You then have to wait again a couple of hours to have an appointment, over the phone. No confirmation by email or message. Due to the unavailability of the lab answering for an appointment we ended doing an urgent PCR test to have the results the same day and make sure we could travel the day after! All of this with an extra cost of course. When we payed we received no receipt, nothing, despite asking for a confirmation. And at the end, while my partner received his results by the end of the day mine only arrived the following day in the afternoon! More than 24hours after! Couldn’t take my flight of course. On top of a really bad organisation, they are now pretending the results were sent! They are a joke! Was in the North of Portugal a couple of weeks before and I have to say service with Unilabs was perfect: online booking, payment confirmation straight away. Results by email and message.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Both my wife and I turned up today without an appointment for a routine blood test and were very impressed from start to finish. Outside we were guided to the correct door by a lovely security chap, once inside a lovely lady gave us both booking tickets, reception called us over and registered us on the system ( as not been before ) we were called straight through and had blood tests done by another very kind lady and all in all we were in and out within 15 mins. Brilliant service and everyone had a smile on their face and were extremely helpful, well done Portugal ?????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On Monday 13th September I attended Aqua Lab Albufeira for a COVID test . All went well at the lab and I was processed quickly and efficiently . Later that evening I received an email from Aqua Lab stating that my test results were “inconclusive” . I again attended Aqua Lab Albufeira the next morning at 0900 hrs for a further COVID test . Again this was a quick and efficient experience .HOWEVER ; I had to pay a further 100 Euros for this test , the result of which was emailed to me that evening thankfully as “negative” .
On returning home I wrote ( recorded delivery and first class Mail ) to the Technical Director of Aqua Lab Albufeira on 17th September and enclosed copies of my test results and a receipt for the 100 Euros I paid for the second test . I requested a refund of this amount as I was not responsible for any involvement in the testing process apart from having my nose swabbed . I also provided details of my home , and email addresses , plus my mobile phone number . To date I have not received any response to my letter . It is totally indefensible to demand further payment for a repeat test in these circumstances for which the customer bears no responsibility . Hopefully my above experience will prompt Aqua Lab to do the decent thing and give me a refund .
