★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interesting aqueduct. Restoration makes it rewarding to visit. You can walk over the aqueduct and cross the river. Great experience. Here is the site seeing information : "Built according to Father José Jorge Pinto's project, it is the most remarkable piece of Ponte Ferreira's irrigation system. Construction began in 1875 and took about three years to complete due to lack of manpower. The construction was done in stretches and the difference in level between the bridge and the aqueduct is less than a meter, which allows water to circulate in both directions. It was indispensable in the irrigation of corn, which revolutionized the economy of the late nineteenth century and generated great disputes with the millers. Target of recovery and enhancement to integrate the pedestrian path of Ponte Ferreira irrigation. It was inaugurated on September 14, 2013."
