★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good enough for a wee and maybe a coffee. Everything else and you pay the price of exclusivity in a deserted motorway. After the coffee, skip the pumps and head to Spain for cheap petrol.

The choices are expensive ( airport prices)though you do have quality than the past. The hygiene is variable depending on the staff and management of the moment.
Another option in the scant eating choices on route in the Alentejo. You would have to go around 20 mins out of the way to find a half decent choice of restaurant…
