This supermarket has more products than all the other supermarkets in Évora. They have a shelf with foreign products, and option for healthier products too.

Large supermarket. Is it a hypermarket? In my opinion it isn't. Too small, not a hypermarket choice of products. They have a nice selection of bio products though. Fruit and vegetables are of good quality. Lots of cheeses including from outside Portugal. Good wholegrain bread (not easy to come by in Portugal). Checkout belts as always very short , too short. Not the cheapest of supermarkets. The petrol station at the back of the mall is cheap. Large (and free) parking beneath the shopping mall. Nice in summer: cool car! Accessible for wheelchairs.

Jumbo is Portugal’s cheapest supermarket, according to a recent study by consumer watchdog DECO. The association analysed 43,000 prices in 472 supermarkets across the country. To find the cheapest, 83 products were placed into two different shopping carts – one with the supermarket’s most popular and sold brands, and another combining some of the most sold with some of the cheapest. In both, Jumbo was crowned the supermarket with the cheapest prices, followed by Continente/Modelo in second place, and Lidl and Pingo Doce in third place. Pingo Doce was in December considered the cheapest supermarket for popular brands but this time fell to third place in both lists. The study also found that Lisbon, Setúbal, and Faro are the districts with the biggest price difference between the cheapest and most expensive supermarkets. Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Évora and Coimbra stand out as the districts where it is “harder to save money” at the supermarket, while in Porto, Santarém and Faro competition is stiff among a number of supermarkets offering “the lowest prices”.
