Amazing magnificent place with one of the most unique house of the world. however, you can't get closer then 200m due to privacy and wired fence respect.

Amazing view so high up and very tranquil you really get to bond with nature and amazing skill in building that tiny house between two boulders.

I'm glad I read the reviews before going so I wasn't too disappointed! The fence around the house was indeed quite vast. I wonder what has happened? Does the house have a new owner or did someone do something to the house? Anyways, I didn't feel welcomed though this had been a dream of mine to see. I didn't even know there used to be a way to get inside. I watched a video of the indoors and it looks so cool! If it was my house I wouldn't want random people in or around the house either. The owner is lucky to have this peace of history and architecture!

This is a great place to visit, ideally on a windy day when the turbines are spinning and making an unworldly sound which adds to the unreal experience of being up here. So, Google Maps will give you great directions but be aware, it's up an unmade road which is narrow and very steep. You'll be asking whether your horrid hire car will make it. I got up there in a Renault Captur with four people on board. This is one of the very worst cars I've had the misfortune to hire so if this will go up, pretty much anything will. As the driver, you'll want to know that the road gets better and also that there are loads of places to turn around and park. Ideally park a few hundred yards from the house and walk so you get a feel of the landscape. Usually you can't walk this close to wind turbines and they are quite imposing. The house itself is fenced off, but when we went there was a guard on duty charging 2 euros a person to get in and its worth it. You can't go inside the house, which is tiny, but you can get up close. Only an hours activity, but you'll be glad you went.

We were charged 2€ per person for the visit. It’s expensive for such a small area to visit. But the real problem arised after we paid and asked for a receipt. We were denied a receipt. This is against Portuguese law. The person that was there charging for the tickets became rude and even violent after our request. We left afraid of the what could happen. There are truly beautiful places in the word with beautiful people and this is definitely not one of them.

Casa do Penedo is a wonderful place to visit. The building is peculiar, and the surroundings provide the perfect scenery for a wonderful. There is a swimming pool. Casa do Penedo is private property and it’s necessary to pay a fee to visit the area.
