The review really dates back to 2015 but up to now didnt put it up as I didnt believe it to be real. I have bought bees all over the world and have had Buckfast bees for many years. The product was poor the customer service was/is unbelievable. I bought 2 nuclei from Mr Goncalves, we turned up, they were small and very weak but it was February and they were gentle bees, he used Illegal varroa treatments (Homemade Amitraz strips) and didnt give a receipt for his non profit organisation but oh well I thought. They had the worst chalkbrood I have ever seen and the bees tried to superseded the queens straight away. Not like any Buckfast bees I have ever owned. Very poor product. The whole project was to convert my nasty Iberica bees into calm Buckfasts and in the process I sold a few queens, NO you cant, it is BUCKFAST PORTUGAL PRODUCT. Since then I have had adverts removed form custojusto and olx, lawyers letter and had two pages on facebook removed, why? Because he owns a Buckfast trademark in Portugal, well no he doesnt, he threatens he does but in reality all he owns in the commercial value of "Buckfast" nothing more. He is trying like someone who wants to copyright "Bulldog" Sorry but it is out of your jurisdiction. Sorry but coming from the UK and personally seeing Brother Adam's work, for Mr Goncalves to take the work as his own and use, to threaten when he doesnt even have permission from Buckfast Abbey is an incredible insult. Buyer beware.
