★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a fantastic lunch here after a morning at Carvalhal beach. Had the grilled Seabream and Octopus on coals - absolutely delicious and fresh. Full of locals so feels like the real deal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed it a lot. Because it was bank holiday it was crowded so the service was a bit slow, however it has good service and good food. We asked for "Amêijoas à Bulhão pato" and fish mix with grilled "Abrótea" and "Safia" and it was very good, the fish was clearly fresh.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have known this restaurant since I was a child and it's really incredible. It has a wonderful mood, the food is completely delicious, if you come hear I recommend you to eat fish because is really fresh. They normally show you the fish they have from the one you ordered so you can choose. One time one of the fish was actually still alive!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very popular place, with people waiting 1-2 hours for a table. And it's located in a very small village and the best restaurant there, it's not hard to understand why. The food was excellent, at least what I had and the service was as good as they could be, as again, understaffed. The owner was very nice and kept apologising for the delay on everything and he even offered us a shot of the "pinga" he made himself. Best hours to get a table with no difficulty is before 7:30. I recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent fish, octopus and clams!!! Everything absolutely fresh and very tasty. House wine out of the bottle very nice! The staff is extraordinarily friendly, attentively and English speaking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was there two times during my stay at Carvalhal da Rocha. I am not a fan of restaurants because of costs but money spent there were worth every single cent.
I am not a fan of fish so I had something simple sola with fish eggs :). Fish eggs - caviar (?). They serve it with garlic. It is a regional dish so one should taste it.
Next time I choose strange fish I do not know. The waiter came and showed me 2 of a kind and asked to decide which one I would like. I was speechless.
One thing I did not like about that place was when my wife choose a fish soup and the waiter did not say that that dish is for 2 persons.
Place is packed with locals and tourists even thou it is in very small village in the middle of nowhere. That means something.
