★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely view of Porto from the south bank of the Douro river is what awaits you. Nova Vila de Gaia is the city's name from where one photo was taken. Gaia, as it is called, is the aging warehouse center for all the port wines produced east on the Douro river, like Kopke and Sandeman. Even in early November it is lovely. There is a long pedestrian walk along the river, ferris wheel, lots of tasting cellars, restaurants, shops and a tram accessible from the upper walk of the Dom Luis bridge so it's easy to enjoy.
