Great location and unique property! Very interesting conversion from an old police station to an hotel. Next door to world if wine and close to the river front with the iconic views of Porto and the Dom Luis Bridge.

The assistant manager, Paulo, was amazing helpful in a time of personal electronic device crisis. iPhone froze and he got it back up and running super quick and could tell I had a intense sense of urgency. The hotel is very lucky to have this individual working for them. He really went above and beyond. Additionally to that everything was excellent here during my stay.

A beautiful and stylish hotel. From the street the building appears to be a normal (but more substantial) 19th C house a 100 m back from the river. The entrance hall is an attractive combination of blue and white tiles and solid granite which presents a pleasing harmony of colour and juxtaposition of surfaces. Move further into the building and there is a surprise; a large covered atrium linking the beautifully restored part of the building to the artistic gem of the new wing and the courtyard garden. All the rooms (I was in the new my friend in the “old”) are super comfortable and stylish. If you want extra quiet then ask for the new wing or the interior facing “old” rooms. The street facing rooms are beautiful and gave good views but, obviously, you need the windows shut at night on the air con on. There are views of Gaia and Porto across tiled roofs and the garden, partially bordered by granite walls, keeps the sun but has plenty of shade from magnolia and trees and shrubs. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place. The proprietors, Olivia and Fuad are charming and helpful hosts who can offer advice and practical assistance. The young staff are enthusiastic and helpful. Even better than I’d hoped and a real pleasure. I’ll definitely be back.

The Caleway is excellent in every way possible. Beautifully renovated Building in convenient & quit Gaia location; large, stylish comfortable rooms (fantastic bed!), lovely breakfast with attentive service, beautiful views from rooms and sweet peaceful courtyard, lounge and entry areas. The owners were present & helpful ( tips on the bike ride to beach!)…and Paolo provided above and beyond service before, during and after our stay … he is priceless! We will return soon and encourage anyone staying in Porto to do the same!

Wow! That was a great stay! Super unimpressive from the outside, the hotel surprises inside with a lovely design and a great charm. At breakfast you were greeted super friendly and delighted with a really awesome breakfast. The rooms are super quiet, you hear nothing from the outside and you have a nice courtyard. I can not imagine a nicer location in Porto for a city trip. Please keep up the good work and see you soon!

Amazing views of Porto from the hotel room. Large windows and balcony, I loved just laying in bed and looking at the view. They also have a rooftop you can check out for 360 degree views. I had a room overlooking the courtyard so very quiet, no street noise or traffic. Room was modern and clean. TV even had Netflix, which isn’t that common so I was thrilled. Breakfast buffet had a great selection of sweet and savoury and the pastries were particularly delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, just a couple minutes walk from lots of restaurants and the best views of Porto.

Spacious and comfortable room with modern furnishings. The location is wonderful (after you find a parking spot!). Walk along the river and come back to a fantastic shower and quiet restful sleep. The reception is warm and the breakfast so delicious with many good options. Highly recommend!

Located on a side street on the Gaia side of the river, this place was a bit of a hidden gem. The almost anonymous front door led into a modest lobby, but became more expansive as you got deeper and deeper into the hotel. The rooms were reasonably simple but comfortable. The staff could not possibly have been any more accommodating and helpful. This is just the type of place my wife and I love to stay. If I get back to Porto, I will most assuredly stay here again.
