★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Depois do Terramoto de 1755, foi permitido aos homens com profissão de Carpinteiro de Machado a construção de uma capela, em madeira, dentro da Ribeira das Naus - a Capela de São Roque. posteriormente viria a ser autorizada a construção de uma nova capela em alvenaria para substituir a existente em madeira. Está nova capela foi sagrada em 1761.
 After the 1755 Earthquake, men with the profession of Carpenter of Machado were allowed to build a wooden chapel inside the Ribeira das Naus - the Chapel of São Roque. later, the construction of a new masonry chapel would be authorized to replace the existing wooden chapel. This new chapel was sacred in 1761.
