I did not rent the house I went to see the path that runs along it and the view is very beautiful, but very exposed to the gaze of the people around, the beaches barely 2 minutes are very pretty but I had a very bad surprise staying there for a few minutes! Only single men occupied it, one did not hesitate to touch each other while we were still on the beach, we left quickly This is a swinger or gay beach

A really unfriendly owner. Even if you try to ask friendly for his help,he is very unfriendly. Thank you for my badest experience in Portugal. I would not go there.

The view from this house takes your breath away. I have never seen anything like it! Amazing vacation, very relaxing and the house with the stunning surrounds gave me 2 weeks of bliss. Highly recommend!

The house may be down a private drive, however the house is anything but private. A footpath runs alongside the property which is used frequently. In effect, people are wandering around a few feet from where you are trying to relax. The pool area is in a state of disrepair. The concrete surround is broken and uneven creating tripping hazards next to the water. Sunbed lats broken. Sunbed cushions stained. Floors dirty. Kitchenware and cutlery dirty. Poor selection of tableware. Toilet was blocked. Toilet door handle hanging off. Sofa cushions torn. Light bulbs blown. The WIFI stopped working after 36 hours. Electrical fitting above door is in a state of disrepair. Coffee table bolt missing - glass top loose. Window shutter stays were in a state of disrepair. Outdoor seating cushions stained. We couldn't stand the unhygienic nature, hazardous disrepair and complete lack of privacy so we moved out after just 4 days of our planned 10 day vacation - no refund.

An unique place, close to urban facilities but hidden among sharp cliffs and untouched shore woods, walking distance to some of the best-kept secrets in Algarve's shore. The pool and the quiet are outstanding.

Sum up of the text below (if you don’t have the time to read all): -Stayed in Casa da Guarda from the 6th to 11th of June -Overall experience negative, will not go back and definitely not recommend it to friends and family -House needs urgent maintenance and was not properly clean (details below) -Terrible hostess and lack of good faith from property owners: We informed the property owners on the first day, did not care. Told us, in the last day, they only cared about the pool, because that was the reason germans and dutch rent the house, they went out to restaurants for meals so there was no need to invest in the interior. Portuguese market was not their target. This was told us as clear as I am writing. Complete review: Regarding my recent stay at Casa da Guarda (from 6 to 11 of June 2021) with my husband and 4 month old daughter I consider the overall experience to be a negative one and a disappointment, not only due to the facilities but also due to the owners (our contact during the stay was with Nilly). That being said, I would not only never repeat the experience but definitely not recommend it to friends and family. I must say that the reason I make this review is due to the lack of good faith from the owners, humbleness to accept criticism and terrible hostess. From our first day in the house we informed the responsible (Nilly), of the several problems we encountered (from the dishware dirty from previous house guests, to showers clogged up not allowing to take proper bath, to a fridge pouring water and so forth), she told us she would go there the next day to talk to us and we only saw her in the last day, without even giving any justification for the absence and failure with the commitment she made. Once we made the reservation through booking.com, we wrote a review there, and to our surprise, the answer was, and I quote: “Dear Guest, We are sorry that the experience was not to your liking, if you have and issues we ask to be informed in due time and not after check out so we can address them.”. Well, booking.com doesn’t allow us to respond to this, so we are using the means possible to set the record straight. I feel the need to sum up Nilly message to us when, in the last day, we finally got to personally meet her, so that people are not mistaken, and can make an informed decision when making the reservation. According to Nilly, they don’t feel the need to care for the interior of the house, the germans and dutch that go to that house (the Portuguese market is not their target), only care for the exterior, and go out for the meals, they don’t care whether the house is in good or bad shape. Additionally, when we mentioned that other previous house guests had already made some remarks regarding the maintenance and hygiene of the house Nilly calmly asks: “So why did you come?”. Well, I must say she has a point, we took a risk and we clearly made a bad call. But Nilly , in our point of view of course, didn’t handle the situation properly, display an indeed arrogant posture. It is easy to be nice when receiving compliments, far difficult but far more revealing is the attitude towards not so positive reviews which should be considered as improvement opportunities not arguments to fight back. I will not go into further detail about the property, my husband already sum up the details (Filipe). Yes the surroundings are indeed a feast for the eyes, nevertheless all the property needs maintenance, care and cleaning, even the exterior.

The house has the potential to be an unique and special experience. The location, the view and the exterior of the house are very good. We rented the house for 5 days and we have to say that the overall experience was far from positive. The interior of the house needs extra maintenance, hygiene and renew of all kitchen appliances. The fridge did not operate well, the oven was completely dirty and greasy and the supplies were also in very poor conditions. The bathrooms were in also poor condition and with a serious problem with the plumbing and awful smell during our stay. Overall experience was not positive.

Dream place! Great secluded stay. Only unfortunate thing is that the shower drain did not work well so when we took a shower we would always flood the living room and waist time picking up the shower.
