Casa das Histórias Paula Rego - Av. da República 300
About Casa das Histórias Paula Rego

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Paula Rego's work, however this museum has a very poor collection of Rego's work, not at all meriting a museum un her name.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum is very nice, but our best impression is the museum restaurant. The food is so delicious, the chef is amazing! Now we come again and again to try new dishes. The kitchen is open until 15:00.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fab gallery but there is no Paula Rego! Next exhibition is not until November. They do not have a permanent exhibition. Needless to say still worth the short walk from Cascais through the botanical Gardens and museum Quarter. 4 stars just for the building

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ for architect visitors: you can enjoy souto de moura's architecture pretty much without buying the ticket for the exhibition. the museum spaces are quite generic, and the two chimneys are over the café and the shop, that are free to visit. you can also walk around the building in the park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A collection of paintings, drawings, and engravings of the contemporary artist Paula Rego throughout the 50 years of her artistic career. The building itself was designed by the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, and it was Paula Rego who chose this architect. The two pyramid-shaped towers with their brilliant red color gives a unique characteristic to the building.
