★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved this place. It was beautiful and we enjoyed living in the small village. Although it was only for one night, we managed to take in the views with a few bottles of wine after dinner and in the morning. The lady working here was lovely, she spoke little English but it didn't matter as she was friendly and the included breakfast cooked by her was delicious. Just a warning, since some don't seem to realize, this is not a hotel to access without a car :).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cannot fault this spot. The view is stunning. They have their own small vineyard and Olive Garden which you can wander around. The host Maria was great, we felt very at home and stayed in a room slightly off the main house. Staff very helpful and organised a tours for some of the wineries. We had dinner here one night and had traditional Portuguese food. It really was amazing!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It pained us to leave this property. I knew I wanted to stay somewhere that had a view of the river and I was afraid that this location would be too far away. Boy was I wrong. Casa De Casal De Loivos is perfection. The location is wonderful as it provides stunning views and also due to the location, the pool and terrace gets sun all day long. We also took a stunning walk down the hill through the vineyards to Pinhao, which provided for some exercise before we enjoyed the pool for the rest of the day. We dined at the property having the set 3-course menu each night. We thought "maybe we should venture out and dine elsewhere to see other places," but because the food, service, and wine list were all so phenomenal, we couldn't bring ourselves to leave. Do not miss this place! Margarida took incredible care of us and we felt like friends by the time we left. We hope to be back soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic, charming, beautiful, impressive, delicious, etc... all describe feelings that we had during our much too short stay.
The view is spectacular, the hotel charming and tastefully decorated, the service was excellent and highly professional, the homemade cooking delicious and served in the historical ambient. We would have enjoyed a longer stay. We hope to come again! Thanks Margerita for the extra tour!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For sure one of the best view of the valley. The building is amazing, very ancient but well refurbished (option to ask for very new rooms). We spend there 2 nights and had dinner both the evenings. Food super good and abundant, wines good as well but a bit too expensive (not to mention water). Staff very young and nice… a bit slow but when one is on holiday all is fine :)
