About Casa do Alto
Ever since we took over Casa do Alto from the former owner, in October 2016, we have gradually renovated the whole building and garden. We started with painting, buying new beds, building a new kitchen and reorganising the garden. The years after, we renovated all bathrooms and the swimming pool. During the Covid-pandemic we have reorganised our bar and reception, paved our driveway and put a lot of energy in pruning the garden.
Marloes has become the sole owner of Casa do Alto this year, Teresa has worked at Casa do Alto for nearly 20 years, Tete is here since 2018 and Vania came to live on the premises just a few months ago. Thaleia, the small dog, came from Amsterdam to Casa do Alto with Marloes in 2016. Alf found his way to Casa do Alto in 2019 and Leea came here as a kitten in 2020.
LONG STAY in WINTER 2021/2022.
We rent out our apartments and garden rooms for long stay (min. 4 nights, without ‘hotelservice’). You can still enjoy our garden and pool area and enjoy the quiet atmosphere, but the bar is closed and checkin is by appointment.
In the summer we offer breakfast and snacks & drinks during the day. Our ‘summer season’ will start again by Easter 2022.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, this place was just amazing! We would recomend it for any person that is looking for the perfect holiday feeling. The service is great and in the morning you get the most delicious breakfeast. You can swim in the pool, and lay down in the portugese sun. You can smell all the flowers in the garden, and taste the fruits of the trees. The town is very close and so is the beautifull sea. We went to the local markets what is very nice if you like good food and the local art.
We had a very good time here and are coming back for sure!

The garden and pool area where beautiful and well kept. Pool was a perfect temperature set in a sun trap. Breakfast was served either in the garden/terrace or inside the hotel. The food was freshly made and the pastries are lovely and fresh.
Every member of staff where welcoming, helpful and friendly.
You do need to have a car as the location is out of the main town however this adds to the peaceful nature

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We could only stay for 3 nights, but we could have stayed for weeks. Here you find what you expect from a boutique hotel. Cozy, friendly, personal. The beds are comfortable, excellent fresh home made breakfast and excellent service.
We had a spacious garden room with brand new bathroom and our own little terrace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had such a lovely time here. The owners are adorable, make you at ease and have great recommendations regarding restaurants. This is a lovely place to relax by the pool. My dogs were welcomed and had a great time with the owners pets. The breakfast was delicious ? as well as the Mojitos !
