★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Casa do Lado is a beautifully decorated and stylish house designed in Alentejo style. We really loved our apartment - it was clean and very cosy. The owners - Tomas and his sister Mariana were truly welcoming and provided us with care and attention. Breakfast were always fresh and delicious. On the top of that Marianna is a great cook and we can definitely recommend to accept their offer of dinner and taste traditional local meals. We would love to come back! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ GREAT PLACE!! Casa do lado means “house next door”. It’s the house next door to where the owners grew up and their parents still live. I loved that detail/story! So this place truly is a very warm hearted family business run by Tomas and his two sisters (one is a chef and the other an artist). Tomas is such a lovely guy and made us feel so very welcome. The house is beautifully furnished, very clean and super comfortable with nice art works and sculptures made by Tomas’ sister. Tomas’ dad loves wine and collects so of course A lovely wine collection is also at hand, just grab a bottle and enjoy! Breakfast is served in the cute little courtyard and was delicious with local produce such as local cheeses, home made jams & fresh breads. If you enjoy staying in smaller accommodations (the house only has 5 rooms) with loads of love and attention to even small details, this is your place. Oh and it’s also worth mentioning it’s only a 5 mins walk into the small centre with plenty of Restaurants ☀️? Enjoy your stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This feedback only counts for the restaurant, however we Mariana gave us a small tour through the house and we loved it.
But I want to give five stars for their lovely dinner. We booked the three course menue one day in advance (it is important to book it one day in advance so they can purchase the grocery on their local market or in their garden :) ). The dinner was really amazing and very authentic Portuguese food. We also ordered a bottle of selected red vine. This was amazing and for a very very fair price.
To sum up we had a lovely evening in their backyard with great food and wine. Whenever we are in the village again we will go there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is probably the best stay we had in Portugal so far. Ever since we found it a couple of years back we keep coming here.
Perfectly located in the heart of Alentejo Region, in the mesmerizing town of Vila Nova de Milfontes, right by the coast. Surrounded by beautiful beaches, hiking trails, family friendly atmosphere as well as culture and nightlife, you‘ll find yourself staying in this soulfull Family run bnb!
There’s a small but very fine choice of rooms, fully equipped, clean and hygienic with everything you would ask for on vacation.
The general atmosphere is incredibly hospitable and friendly while professional and discrete at the same time.
We appreciate the genuine mix of traditional Portuguese/alentejano interior combined with modern aesthetic elements and art.
Don’t miss out on the incredible breakfasts, dinners and wines you can get here! The focus is on local and sustainable produce. You can enjoy farm to table food alongside to house made modern cuisine inspired by traditional Alentejo kitchen.
Genuinely amazed to still find these kind of places in Europe! Highly recommend

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Casa do lado is the best place to stay in when you visit Vila Nova de Milfontes. Tomás is an amazing host, taking care of every little detail in everything and being super kind and helpful every time. In addition, Casa do lado is very cozy with a very beautiful inner courtyard and loads of good taste in all the decoration the house has. Breakfast prepared by Tomás are always perfect with a big variety of food and, as I said before, taking care of every little detail. And of course, rooms: we already stayed in two different rooms of the house and both were super cozy. I totally recommend to stay in Casa do lado :) We will come back soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had such a great stay at Casa do Lado. Tomas and his sister are super welcoming and the house itself is amazing. We loved the style and design. Also the dinner is definitely recommended! It’s made from regional products and was the best food we had in Portugal so far :) we hope to come back soon!
