Casa do Romezal

Me and three friends were staying at an Airbnb nearby and were looking for a place to do a wine tasting. Luckily Casa do Romezal was open on a Sunday. We were happily received by the host and did and audio tour while he prepared some wines. Our wine tasting was extensive and we had all the time to ask questions and listen to all the stories. We all loved it and bought some amazing wines! I highly recommend this place. Apparently they also have a b&b.

In spring we visited the Douro area where the fruit trees were in full blossom. In the heart of the Douro we found this gem! We stayed for one night on this beautiful intimate wine estate. Where the rooms are beautifully decorated and a homemade breakfast is included in the room fee. You can play vinyl records in the living room. Wine tasting and a vineyard tour (in several languages) is also included. It is an 20- to 30-minute walking tour and ends at Gueda Wines where you can taste their wines and ports. Especially their ports we can recommend! Don’t forget to taste their own brand of pure virgin olive oil. The staff is very dedicated and really goes the extra mile! We will be back! One minus point: our room was attached to the family room and the room was not completely sound-proof.

This is a delightful little B&B. Very quaint, extremely well run, breakfast is incredible. Bed is comfy, lots of water pressure in shower. It's a working winery and you'll find the wine maker passionate and approachable. Great little tour. Wines are very nice.

Wonderful tasting experience by Luís as part of our trip in Douro. Lovely cheese, bread and cold meat platters as part of the tasting. Luís was such a great host, answering all pur questions about the region, the family history and the farm. Had extensive knowledge about the wines that were presented. He also made great recommendations for us on which wines to buy based on what each one in the group liked. The location itself is amazing - a stunning view over the Douro Valley can be seen through the tasting venue. Lovely experience all in all.

It's magical. Only 3 rooms, so it very quiet and peaceful. Lovely pool with awesome views and yummy things for breakfast. Margareda and Louis are charming hosts, their wine tour and tasting is very informative and personal, and their wines and port are very good. Fantastic 4 night stay in a beautiful room.

This was the last farm that we visited in our trip in Douro and we are really glad that we did it. Luís is super friendly, the tour has a special touch where you can be lost in their vineyards with audio guide to walk you through, explaining the history and the process of producing wine. We spent almost 3hours talking and doing the wine taste, it was really an awesome experience.

We had such a fantastic time - the place is beautiful, a family-run winery at your doorstep; it felt like being at home but with amazing views and hospitality. A great way to experience the Douro Valley, thank you Margarida!

We spent an absolutely wonderful four days at Casa do Romezal in March. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! The location, the rooms, the breakfast and most of all the people are the best. It is a great place to settle in and explore the Douro. Be sure to allow yourself time for a wine tasting at the winery integrated with the guest house (Margarida runs the Casa and her brother Luis the winery - they are both lovely).
