★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No Inverno o aquecimento é feito com caldeira a lenha, pelo que, ou nos levantamos de noite para recarregar a lareira, ou o apartamento fica gelado. Não há lojas na aldeia. Um pouco isolado.
In winter the heating is done with a wood boiler, so either we get up at night to recharge the fireplace, or the apartment is freezing. There are no shops in the village. A little isolated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed in one of the apartments of Casa Grande in July 2017 and it was a wonderful experience. We had not been to Serra da Estrela and the house owner, Margarida Vasconcelos, offered us advice as well as a useful map of the main areas to see; without both we would no doubt have missed some unforgettable landscapes, sights and villages – all absolutely stunning. Margarida offered us a warm welcome together with glasses of port and the most delicious fruit grown in the beautiful gardens of the 16th and 18th century manor. We had a fantastic time and look forward to going back. Muito Obrigado. Maria & Duncan

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An experience of it's own. 18th century house, comfortable living room with a fireplace. Huge garden with rose bushes. Perfect way to unwind and refuel. Hidden away from the usual track yet if you have a car day trips to nearby must visit cities is possible. The hostess is a sweetheart.
