★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderfully cosy restaurant, perched right on the bank of the Douro. It’s run by the sweetest people who are genuinely excited to see you try their food: rustic, hearty, beautifully made local delights. Expect to leave utterly content with a full belly.
Highly recommended: pataniscas de bacalhau (cod fish cakes - as many as you can eat!) and the rojões (pork belly)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely little spot in Melres. We came for lunch and received a warm welcome. The server spoke great English which was helpful. The food is incredibly tasty. It has that homemade quality that we all secretly yearn for. We had the insanely addictive cod fritters, some delicious chicken thighs and a fresh tomato salad.
Come for the food, the atmosphere and the view.
