★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We got to Figueira and as we walked by the restaurant, the smell of food was so good that we decided to give it a try. The beautiful decoration and the attentive service were both impressive.
We really hoped the food would match our first impressions and thankfully were not disappointed: we had a lamb stew, a doughy ball prepared with pork, and a rice-lamb kind of sausage. All three dishes were unbelievably delicious. Aged goat cheese and olives for starters were also amazing, all together with a really nice bottle of red, which was recommended by the owner.
They gave us a complimentary grape schnapps which was supherb. All in all, it was one of the best meals we have have on our Portugal trip so far and the drive from Coimbra just to try the food is well worth it.

Not easy to get to but very worthwhile making the effort to get there due to the quality of the dining experience. Traditional and different foods of high quality. Limited number of tables thus booking required. We had starters, main and deserts all of which were delicious. Good choice of quality wines from different areas of the country. Highly recommended
