Mede cerca de meia dezena de metros de altura, ao qual estão adoçadas construções modernas. A primeira fortaleza consistiu, provavelmente, num castro lusitano do período neolítico para o calcolítico, por onde terão passado os Fenícios, os Gregos e os Cartagineses. A fortaleza foi conquistada pelos romanos por volta de 198 AC. e foi transformada numa base militar de ocupação, servida pelo porto de Armação de Pêra. Posteriormente, foi ocupada pelos mouros até à conquista portuguesa por D. Paio Peres Correia III mandou reedificar o castelo mouro, o qual foi mais tarde restaurado durante as guerras da restauração, em 1640.
The short section of still existing walls is visible from the courtyard of the local market and the small side of the Castle.
It is about half a dozen meters high, to which modern buildings are sweetened. The first fortress probably consisted of a Lusitanian castle from the Neolithic to the Chalcolithic period, through which the Phoenicians, Greeks and Carthaginians passed. The fortress was conquered by the Romans around 198 BC. and was transformed into a military occupation base, served by the port of Armação de Pêra. Later, it was occupied by the Moors until the Portuguese conquest by D. Paio Peres Correia III had the Moorish castle rebuilt, which was later restored during the restoration wars in 1640.

This is a clear example of the abandonment of historical heritage. As if it didn't arrive, they put the trash can together. Very sad to see.
