Em finais do século XVIII, passou a pertencer e a ser gerido pela Câmara Municipal, para cumprir uma das atribuições camarárias "o abastecimento em quantidade, qualidade e preço justo". Em finais do século XIX passou a ser propriedade privada.
 Public granary, owned by the Order of Christ. At the end of the 18th century, it began to belong to and be managed by the City Council, in order to fulfill one of the municipal duties "supply in quantity, quality and fair price". At the end of the 19th century, it became private property.
