★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Typical small museum for occasional tourists, set in an attractive location.
5 Euro entrance fee straight into the pocket of the owner who provided no ticket or receipt.
I and the other eight customers were then shown to a room where we were given a video presentation in Portuguese (no subtitles) which I was not able to understand.
After this, it was established that there was an English subtitled version but because I had not asked for it he didn't play it.
The owner then presented the display to us but he spoke no English whatsoever, so again I could understand nothing. The texts above the display cases did offer an English translation, so at least I could read a small amount of information, but otherwise it was frustrating and boring.
The most annoying part, and the reason for this negative review, is the fact that despite the owner knowing that he had not given any service to me, he did not offer to refund my entrance fee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I greatly enjoyed this museum dedicated to incredibly large trilobites. Considering that they lived 500 million years ago it's amazing that their fossils are still recognizable. Well worth a visit. Free parking, admission 5 euros, and a good 23 minute overview video (English subtitles). We got a very detailed and informative private tour by the son of the owner. Make sure to contact the museum ahead of time to arrange a visit. Do not assume they will just be open!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall this is an incredible piece of scientific importance. This site has found a high concentration of large to very large trilobites (up to 90 cm). Admissions are 5 euros and parking is free. You watch a 23 minute English subtitled video and get to wander the museum (which is small but also the perfect size considering the content).
