A nova escola também é amiga do ambiente, com arquitetura pensada ao pormenor para a poupança de energia. Possui reguladores de fluxos luminosos, energia geotérmica e conforto acústico que irão permitir que o edifício seja praticamente eficiente e autossustentável. Construído de raiz, o Centro Escolar foi implantado num terreno limitado a norte pelo Pavilhão Desportivo, a nascente pelo Campo de Jogos Escolares e a sul pelo Parque de Estacionamento dos Autocarros de Transportes Escolares. O município optou, de acordo com a sua Carta Educativa pela demolição total da antiga escola EB1/JI, já que não correspondia às exigências escolares de futuro, no tocante a funcionalidade, desatualização normativas e legislativas e a questões de segurança.

Built from scratch, the School Center was set up on a land limited to the north by the Sports Pavilion, the source by the School Playground and to the south by the School Transport Bus Car Park. According to its Educational Charter, the municipality opted for the total demolition of the former EB1 / JI school, as it did not meet future school requirements regarding functionality, regulatory and legislative outdating, and safety issues.
