★ ★ ★ ★ ★ São várias as fontes que se podem em Alter do Chão, a mais conhecida é a Fontinha em mármore, localizada na Praça da República. A data da construção é de meados do século XVI e foi mandada fazer pelo Duque de Bragança D. Teodósio I . No final do século XVIII o da Barreira e dos Bonecos com elementos de alvernaria e trabalho em massa muito as gosto popular. Outra fonte mais recente toda em granito, localiza-se num Largo enquadrado pela Capela Sant'Ana e pela antiga escola primária com a tipologia de escolas da primeira República. Está integrada numa área de crescimento recente da Vila. Pela sua simplicidade chamou-me também a atenção o fontanário junto ao mercado Municipal. Destas fontes fixei alguns apontamentos. Os tritões, esculpidos em granito, da fonte no Largo onde se situa a Capela Sant'Ana
There are several fountains that can be found in Alter do Chão, the best known being the marble Fontinha, located in Praça da República. The construction date is from the middle of the 16th century and was ordered by the Duke of Bragança D. Teodósio I. At the end of the 18th century, the Barreira e dos Bonecos with elements of masonry and mass work very popular. Another more recent fountain, all in granite, is located in a Largo framed by the Sant'Ana Chapel and the old primary school with the typology of schools of the first Republic. It is part of a recent growth area in the village. Due to its simplicity, the fountain next to the Municipal market also caught my attention. From these sources I have fixed some notes. The newts, carved in granite, from the fountain in the Largo where the Sant'Ana Chapel is located
