Foi erguida no século XIII como Igreja de um Mosteiro que pertenceu à ordem dos templários. Fontes documentais comprovam que em 1549 era propriedade da ordem dos Cónegos regrantes de Santo Agostinho. Entretanto o Mosteiro desapareceu tendo apenas resistido a Igreja que é presentemente Igreja Paroquial. Encontra-se classificada como Monumento de interesse público desde 6 de Dezembro de 1958. The Church of Santiago das Antas, is located in the parish of Antas in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Braga district in Portugal. It was erected in the 13th century as the Church of a Monastery that belonged to the Templar order. Documentary sources prove that in 1549 it was owned by the Order of Canons ruling Saint Augustine. However the Monastery disappeared having only resisted the Church which is presently Parish Church. It has been classified as a Monument of public interest since December 6, 1958.

This church is very recent and is located in the parish of Antas. A modern project of great prominence to live with the Romanesque Church next door. The parish is pleased with the new work, considering that it is very well framed in the area and landscape. There is also a Pastoral Center to function in this urban complex.
