★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The NOS in Alvaláxia is pretty basic for a cinema and has a very industrial feel throughout, despite that, it is still a generally decent cinema. The staff are very friendly and multi-lingual, making going to watch a film in my native English easier, and you can actually have a casual chat with them.
There is a largely selection of movies at this cinema, covering a range of languages and different sizes. I've watched blockbusters and independent alike.
The major issue with this cinema, as it seems to be with every other NOS, is that the cleaning is very suspect. There is a specific team hired to clean the screens, but they take a long time and when you're allowed in the screen, the screens are still filthy. There is often popcorn all of the floor and dirty seats.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The actual cinema is great (the big screen the amazing sound system,...) but it's outrageous that they stop the film midflow, without any narrative or sensitive consideration, in order to do an intermission for publicity. One of the reasons people go to the cinema is to be immersed in the whole cinematic experience, to get away from the annoying TV publicity breaks; that break completely threw us out of the film and, consequently took a little while for us to get back into it again once it was restarted. To make matters worse, when they put it back on some time had elapsed from when they had stopped it , we don't know how much time, but something had definitely happened which we had just missed. Absolutely outrageous. Last but not least, the temperature in the room was unbearably cold.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Entrance is a PITA to find but the theatre is standard NOS so quite good. Cleanliness could be improved as there was old popcorn in the seat next to ours. Social distancing is observed and masks are required throughout the show although you can still sip a drink.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excelente cinema. I still in love for the movie about Aretha Franklin with Jennifer Hudson. Extraordinary, amazing. No words to describe . Definitely God is blessing her and will be for ever and ever. Thank you God for maintain good soldiers serving you. God first any time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a poorly managed theater. The facilities are good but the presentation of films is terrible. I went there to see the new James Bond movie. Three minutes into the movie the emergency lighting began coming on and going off. This went on for about five minutes. That’s no way to watch a movie. I demanded my money back and they were very polite. They said they’ve been having electrical problems “for a while”. Don’t sell tickets to people if you can’t deliver a quality product. If this film distributors knew how you were managing this exhibition, they would stop doing business with you. Get your act together.
