A Ortodontia é uma das áreas da Medicina Dentária cujos objetivos de tratamento passam por melhorar a harmonia do sorrisos e da face; melhorar a articulação/”encaixe” entre os dentes (oclusão); alcançar a função oral normal; e obter a estabilidade/longevidade da dentição.
Deste modo, dentes desalinhados são difíceis de higienizar, levado ao aparecimento de cáries e à evolução de doença periodontal. São, por vezes, a origem de síndromes de ATM e/ou dores de cabeça e do pescoço pelo stress que causam aos músculos mastigatórios.
A primeira consulta deve ser realizada a partir dos 6/7 anos para despistar eventuais alterações dento-esqueléticas, especialmente em crianças com hábitos de sucção da chupeta/dedo/língua; mordidas cruzadas e mordidas abertas.
Nestes casos, realiza-se ortodontia interceptiva de modo a corrigir os problemas esqueléticos, guiando o desenvolvimento ósseo-dentario para os seu trajecto correcto. Esta acção precoce pode não ser suficiente para evitar outros tratamentos ortodônticos, no entanto diminui a complexidade do a segundo tratamento.

Die Zahnärztin spricht Deutsch, Englisch und Portugiesisch. Sehr nette und schnelle Hilfe Danke. Preis ist absolut in Ordnung.
 I lost part of a tooth. A phone call and the very nice boss gave me an appointment in the afternoon. Great work Tooth is whole again. Very good work. The dentist speaks German, English and Portuguese. Very nice and quick help Thank you. Price is absolutely fine.
