В корпусах комплекса жили бомжи. Все двери выломаны, за исключением помещения церкви. Она заперта на замки. Пробраться можно во внутренний дворик, который тоже запечатлен в фильме.
Старый монастырь 17 века, наряду с Эворой, один из двух единственных португальских картезианских монастырей. Посещение - это почти «обязательство».
Filming location of the film "Night Train to Lisbon". The official website states that it is open on Sundays from 12 to 13, but in fact the place looks completely abandoned. Homeless people lived in the buildings of the complex. All doors are broken, except for the church building. It is locked. You can get into the courtyard, which is also captured in the film.
The old monastery of the 17th century, along with Evora, is one of the only two Portuguese Carthusian monasteries. A visit is almost a "commitment."
