A base é constituída por quatro ordens de elegantes degraus circulares, sobre a qual assenta a coluna, com base e capitel oitavados, e coroada por uma cruz.
The Cruzeiro de Setúbal or Cruzeiro do Largo de Jesus was built by D. Jorge de Lencastre, the bastard son of King D. João II. The building material is the Arrábida breach. The base consists of four orders of elegant circular steps, on which the column rests, with an octave base and capital, and crowned by a cross.
