Due to cronovirus Santarem was very quiet for a Saturday lunchtime, and some restaurants were closed. We found this small restaurant and initially thought it might be closed too as it was empty, but fortunately for us it was open, but we were the only customers, even though they had taken sensible precautions, requiring hand washing and sanitizing with alcohol before being given a table, and the table placings were spaced out. 10/10 for common sense. We decided to try the taster menu for 2 and it turned out to be a really good choice. This was probably the best food I have eaten in Portugal in the 4 years we have been here. Portuguese food with a modern twist which made it lighter and was beautifully presented. We were lucky enough to have totally personal service from waiters through to the chef, being the only customers (cronovirus has it's perks). The waiter explained every dish and there was nothing that was not excellent. We are lucky enough to have a house in Santarem and this restaurant will be a regular for us.

This is a nice addition to the rejuvenated dining scene in Santarém. The concept is not necessarily new, but the chef João Correia has implement it perfectly by creating a welcoming space, with an open kitchen and a young team. Being a vegan in Portugal is no easy thing, but at Dois Petiscos, not only the menu offers a few good suitable dishes, but they willingly modify some of the recipes to accommodate any requirements. The focus is on top-quality local and seasonal produce, elevated by using modern techniques to deliver taste and unmatched quality! Service is professional and very friendly.

Way too expensive for the amount of food that comes in the plate. The menu is a god awful nightmare to be read, you can't understand if it is an appetizer, a main course or even where's what. The restaurant employees were too much, they were too personal and too often they would come and try to make a joke of something, they wanted to be the center of attention instead of just being cordial and respectful.

Quint restaurant with great local food. We stopped here randomly on our drive from Lisbon to Porto

Flavourful crockets, though minuscule. Evertything else is quite pricey for such a small offer. OK to try out one time.
