The owner has always been very kins and helpful and speaks fair English. They don't have a huge selection, no brass screws for example, only steel, but there are many options for such a small store.
I would give them five stars, but I went there the other night at 18:03 pm and there was another man about to enter, but the young boy and a middle aged woman blocked the door. There were still customers inside, but the woman pointed to a sign on the door and said 'clothes-ed', which I translated as 'closed'. They used to be open until 19:00 pm, but, apparently, changed their hours on December 24th
Any good business owner should know that you do not turn customers away because the show-up a few minutes before or after posted hours. This happens a lot here, many times businesses open later or close earlier than posted hours.
I decided not to shop there anymore and went to a hardware store in Tavira, but had a similarly negative experience there as well. I guess I will have to make a trip to Loule and Leroy Merlin for a 50 cent piece of hardware.
