About Eight - The Health Lounge
Our Story
Well, our story begins where a lot of stories do: with a challenge. Everyone wants to have a beautiful, uncomplicated life, but we noticed that poor health often makes things ugly and far from simple.
As a family, we loved to travel and adventure together. We liked to squeeze as much as we can from life, like anyone else. But when one of our loved ones faced a near-fatal battle with cancer, something changed. We’d always had an interest in health and lifestyle, but this fight for health sparked a fire in us, and we began to question the popular conception of what it means to be healthy. Does feeling good have to be an elusive goal? Why do our lifestyles seem to be so complicated and out of control? Well, we ended out taking a pilgrimage deep into the heart of the jungle and discovering a secret berry that has the perfect combination of nutrients and antioxidants to perfectly balance the pH levels of your body and cure every ailment known to mankind. Just kidding.
Our investigation did take us on a journey, but it wasn’t to a far-off land. And the answers we found didn’t really seem revolutionary or groundbreaking either. What we found was actually pretty simple. We went back to our roots and discovered that what we were looking for had been right under our noses all along. As Seventh-day Adventist Christians with a biblical worldview, one of our beliefs is that there are eight scientific health principles that have the best impact on our God-designed bodies. When we follow these principles, life is more beautiful and pleasure is maximized.
As we researched and experimented, we began to build our lifestyle around these eight principles: good nutrition, regular exercise, lots of water, sunshine, self-control, fresh air, plenty of rest, and trust in God. That was it. Nothing fancy or complicated about it. And as we saw how these eight secrets revolutionized our own lives and the lives of the ones we cared about most, we knew we were onto a whole new kind of awesome, and we wanted to share it with the world. And so the dream of creating a brand with a mission to make beautiful, healthy living accessible to everyone was born. Enter Eight, stage right.
Once there, this dream wouldn’t leave us alone. So, in keeping with our family’s adventurous spirit, we decided to make Eight a reality. Our goal is to help people reimagine healthy living. Through delicious food and lifestyle inspiration, we want everyone to taste how easy a healthy lifestyle can be. We believe you don’t need more things to create a beautiful life, just a handful of the right things.
Approximately eight of them.
Sincerely,
Ruben and Nancy Dias

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant has been on our list for a long time, because we share the same health values they promote. Visually, this place is amazing - fun, modern and cool.
The menu is very appetising. Lots of variety, but not overwhelming. The food is superb, fresh, colourful and tasty. We loved the positive vibe of this place.
We have two reasons for giving 4 stars. HUGE lack of gluten-free choices. That is quite disappointing for a restaurant promoting such a wonderful health-message. After all, this is Lisbon, the capital of gluten-free sourdough bread on every corner ...
The second reason: apparently, there was a problem with supplies at the time we were visiting. To compensate, the staff suggested a few swaps, for example substituting corn chips with bread, substituting taco shells again with bread and substituting a burger-bun (with gluten) with ... nothing !? The substitutions, unfortunately, did not contribute to the quality of the dish.
However, we would like to point out that the food we ordered from the menu, that were delivered in its original form, were absolutely delicious !!!
We will definitely go back, but we will be happy if they decide to improve on the gluten-free options.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant itself is super cute and the staff was friendly. There is alot of seating which is nice. I got the avacado toast and it was just ok but there seems to be better options than that anyways. Love that it’s vegan/vegetarian!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good vegan food. I would not call it exceptional but very good nevertheless. They serve no coffee. Excellent raw balls. A good view from the upper floor. Witty slogans in the bathroom.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I come here time by time as it's around a corner from my place.
I tried different food and drinks and so far my favorite is Bravocado with extra mushroom, Tofu scramble and Asian Wonder bowl. Yummy.
Bean power bowl could have some more flavors, but it's so healthy, I can't complain.
Pancakes were beautifully served and tasty, love it.
From the bowls Asian Wonder was top.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unexpected delicious surprise.
Oatmeal with almond butter & strawberries and bananas hit the spot.
Ditto for the cacao cookie.
Cute space and they bring the food to your table. Upstairs tables offer a square view.
Friendly staff
I’d return
Have opinions; Will share

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice food, absolutely good branding and interior. Food was good but it really took too much time to prepare. There were 2 other tables who had a look for their breakfast after 30min of waiting. Theres a sign in the place that says good food takes time, but guys i`m doing food since 20years and yours takes too much time. i was in holidays so it was ok for me, but waiting for 35-40min for 2 breakfast dishes is too long. The women on the other table were really angry because they had to catch a flight. you also opened your store at 10:10 reaaaaly slow. No one cared that i waited in front. Also as i entered you`ve not been much interested in a customer. but as is said before, concept is good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant has an organic funky vibe with cool decor. Lots of seating outside, inside and on a second floor make it a popular spot. They were short staffed by two people so the service was slow. That's becoming more common nowadays but the employee who took my order was very apologetic
so I didn't allow that to affect my rating.
However... My food (wowee tacos) was just blah. Literally blah. No flavor, no spices, nada. It was very beautiful (see the photo) but very bland. Guess I ordered the wrong item!
