★ ★ ★ ★ ★ recommended by the brother of the owner, Candido and his chief attendant treated us like VIPs in this 2 year old restaurant tucked in a residential place whose name is the exact address on the same street where the owner grew up, jöaö de barros 88.
from the fresh mozambique shrimps that were delightfully sautéed in olive oil where every bite was a spark of joy to the slightly crispy sardines surrounded with piquant caramelized onions & capped by the egg strewn layered of mixed chorizos with petite fries, the surprise was unexpected given the gastronomic brilliance of this future michelinesque restaurant. candido concocted his mother ‘s leite cremà which was uniquely prepared with magical sweetness enough to sum up a bravissimo dinner.
and all these were musically paired with a live folk guitarist who almost reminded us of cat stevens & james taylor in one persona.
we will be back !
