please make sure you don’t leave your valuables within their apartments
We recently stayed at the Madragoa Apartment and were robbed. There was no sign of forced entry and the door was locked when we returned, so it was either staff or a previous guest has made a copy of the key. After speaking with a Feels Like Home staff member, we were advised that the door code had not been changed in over 6 months! This is unacceptable.
Although they did move us, as you would expect they should, we have been offered no compensation – they have not offered to fully refund our stay or pay for any of the cost of the stolen items (Macbook and cash). We have travel insurance luckily, however it is likely we will still be out of pocket.
I have sent Feels Like Home two emails regarding compensation and have no reply. This is a pure example of terrible customer service, and we will never book through this group again.
Please think twice before booking with this group, and if you do, please make sure to keep your valuables with you at all times!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a terrific experience here. Easy to find with street signage, and friendly and fast staff. Very professional and organised. Make sure you have cash with you to pay the nightly city tax charge. There is a row of pay parking outside where we found a space.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apartment needed some up keep work. Mold on walls in master bedroom bathroom, and kitchen. Unfinished electrical cables in laundry room, power box, and outside storage room. No clear instructions for trash removal. Trash container could not be found. No clear instructions for separating trash and recycling. No extra trash bags. Coffee maker did not work properly, only water came out no coffee. Window shade would not roll down or up, had to manually roll shade up or down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place. Really did feel like home. Had everything one would need during the stay including utensils, microwave, heater, blankets, etc. Not too heavy on the wallet. Easy to check in and out. Stayed here for 4 days and enjoyed it.

the kitchen could be better equipped but it’s okay. We booked the apartment for 4 people, the pull-out couch was neither prepared nor did we find enough bedding for it, so we just had to cover ourselves with towels.
Although the communication was fast, it was very complicated. To get the key, you have to go to the office - publicly accessible in about 20 minutes - I would have liked to have this information BEFORE booking. Check-in was quick, although not friendly.
The storage of our suitcases was not possible after the check-out at 11 am. The only possibility was to leave the luggage in the office, so again across town and for a very cheeky fee. (For this I would recommend a luggage storage, we were at Luggage Storage Lisbon - very good service and costs under half the fee of the Airbnb provider).
You can tell that 'Feels like Home' is a company that doesn't value the well-being of its customers. During communication, I got standard phrases that have nothing to do with the question - clearly copy and paste!
We have already been in many hostels, hotels and Airbnbs, so we are used to a lot and not sensitive - we have never experienced such a rude and unaccommodating service as here, what a pity!
All in all, I can unfortunately not recommend this accommodation at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is aweful! Never had such a bad experience. You need to pick up the key for the apartment in a total different location. In the apartment are not even the basic stuff (soap, shower gel, salt...). Dont matter how many people u are (in my case 8) u get a welcome package with "100ml" dish washer and a spoonge (sic). The apartment is next to a prision.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tv did not work despite many attempt to switch on all possible wires and buttons. Hair dryer was burned out, did not work. Bathroom is in the kitchen with a sliding door that can never be closed. Shower curtain too short. Shower curtain kept sticking on me so did not use it. Mould on Windows and shower. Very small place, too small to be called studio. 2nd floor, no elevator, very small steps, very dangerous with a suitcase. 10 min walk up hill from the welcome centre where the check in is held, not clearly added on the description, I would have not booked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent an unforgettable stays in this apartment. Unsafe, dirty and liar staff what a great combo !
You will really appreciate to save the money of night life since the neighborhood will share a playlist of hip hop and electronic music. From 8pm to 6am, the selection is based on recent hits. Fortunately you don’t need to sell your kidney for a drink to enjoy it !
The neighborhood is very social and open minded since they try to enter in your house day and night. Don’t worry for your personal stuff, minimalism is the new trend ! Calling the portuguese police is THE folkloric experience offered by this flat !
The faune is also very friendly since you can meet cockroaches in the kitchen. They are very happy to share food with the guests and if you can bring some coca they will really appreciate! But no worries for their diabète they really enjoy running on the walls after a good dinner.
No specific thing to say about the smells it is pretty exotic for hours. No question about opening the window since there is none.
We are also waiting to enter in Guiness book by not sleeping 48h in a raw.
To conclude : we lost a day in this flat, and than changing of rent. Than, we just enjoyed our trip in a normal place but really tired with this experience ! We tried to smile about this experience but we were very scared and thanks to the team of Airbnb who help us a lot !
