★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting historical site. Free entry. Little to no interpretive information in any language throughout the site but you are free to wander and it isn't very busy. Offers a great view of the river and surrounding sand bars. There is a Portuguese Wikipedia entry on the site which I'd recommend viewing and translating on a mobile device. There are new facilities within the upper level for the church organization and national defense. There is also a gift shop of sorts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful views in foz of the wild Atlantic. Great spot for a nice walk or jog in the evening. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby too

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It feels great to walk around in the garden and on the walls. Lovely view over Tomar when you're on the walls. These buildings are so majestic, imagining these times, must have been good for the rich but so awfull for the poor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice castle on the coast where you can walk around freely. There's no ticket booth or price of admission. It's a little odd to wander about as it's not made up all touristy and has dead ends. There seems to be a functioning office/meeting room area taking up a portion of the castle too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great citadel based on the remains of a fortifies abbey, on the port mouth in Porto, right next to the beautiful lighthouse. The place also houses model art exhibits.
