★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ride it down, not up. 3 stars for the ride up, 5 stars for the ride down. If you ride it up you will be packed with 25 people. On the way down it was us and one person. If you have a pass, it is probably worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely recommended to those that want to cross over the river via the bridge! Magnificent views and only €2.50 per person per trip. Clean. Leaves at regular intervals. Winner!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great way to come up and down between Ribeira and Batalha, with the added benefit of having an Elétrico station in Batalha (upper part). It also has quick connection by foot to the train and subway station of São Bento. The Funicular of Guindais is very much used by tourists but also by people who commute up and down the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ €2,50 for a trip up or down... Would only use if you don't want to go up the stairs. Whole trip costs about 1 minute. No great views thing was packed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overrated, try once at most. Super short journey and the views are okay, they look better from the stairs. The price is 2.5€ which is a bit overpriced for what you're getting (1 minute trip, long wait time and mediocre trip up).
The staff is very dry to you, they take no card and speak only Portuguese to you and was not even trying to help you out to understand.
Like I said, try once at most if you are visiting. Or if you absolutely cannot walk the stairs. I will be taking the stairs everytime.
