We were very warmly welcomed by the owner, who also explained us the menu in detail. The menu is Brazilian influenced, as the owners. We had a great lunch with delicious fresh fish (sea bream and sea bass - both from the sea, very tasty!!) - but we must give a special mention to the homemade sangria: fruity, not too strong nor too sweet, and simply refreshing. We concluded with some homemade brigadeiros (a Brazilian sugar and calories’ bomb that must be tried at least once) and a caipirinha made according to the family’s traditional recipe. All this for a totally fair and affordable price! We were so happy this entire experience, that we came the day after for a second round of “small snack”

Family owned and very personal service. Food is fantastic! Three of us had fresh octopus which was amazing. The fourth had ribeye steak and said it was the best he ever had... And he is 70 years old! If you want fancy, this is not the place. But if you want great food, created by wonderful people, at a very reasonable price, choose Galo Petisqueira!

The meat is incredible and also the chips! I did not try the fish yet but the polvo looks really nice. Best dessert ever as well (pineapple with Porto sauce and ice cream).

He explained the food and it’s origins, the culture, the wine and the difference of the different ports and don’t even get me started about the chef!!! She is a master of her trade. Her love and passion for the food shows in every dish. Here they dress the food and truly understand their ingredients! Absolutely amazing restaurant!!! If you’re in Porto or anywhere close to here it is a must try and you will not be disappointed! Price-wise they are also FANTASTIC! Honestly the food was so good I physically cried as crazy as it sounds. Amazing atmosphere, staff and a very clean restaurant. This is probably the best spot around to eat seasonal, local produce that is handled with love and care!

The food was on point, the wine was perfect, the owners and personnel are super nice and we could not feel more comfortable here. On top of all of that the facilities here are super clean and it is on the walkway at the beach. I full-heartedly recommend a visit here!!!

I personally ordered the octopus, which the owner explained was cooked in wine before being grilled, and a cookies and ice cream dessert. I will come back definitely, both for the quality of the food, the prices, and the service overall!
