A great car rental business in Portugal, the guy on duty in Coimbra talked me into switching to a diesel. And a thousand (unlimited) kilometres later (we dropped the car in Faro after a roundabout journey), he was proven most definitely correct in his recommendation. 16 euros extra for the diesel saved us at least 80 euros at the petrol station. Further, after dropping the car in Faro, we forgot our Ryanair boarding pass printouts in the car. Went first thing in the morning before our flight to ask if they'd been found, and though the passes were long gone, the woman on duty happily printed us out new ones from my USB stick. A great company with great people all around. I highly recommend.

The car insurance issue was VERY SHADY. I don't trust Guerin or Enterprise any longer. I rented a car online and paid for full insurance. When I arrived to pick up the car, I was told that the internet payment was not any good. Guerin wanted to block $2,500 on my credit card or else have me cancel the insurance I paid for and buy insurance directly with them. Which I did. The agent had an attitude because I had questions. Also, I had gone directly to Guerin at 4pm the day before, but was told they had no cars available. I went home and was able to book a car online and had a large selection of cars to choose from. At 9am the next day I was able to pick up the rental car. Obviously, Guerin is not a company to be trusted, neither is Enterprise, since they are connected with this company. While the car was fine, I don't trust Guerin or Enterprise as a rental car company because of my experience with them.

I have rented with Guerin Coimbra for a total of 6 times during my stay in Coimbra. Every time the staff went out of their way to help me choose the best car and the options best for me. Even during a global pandemic they were miles better than most other car renting agencies. The renting process is extremely simple with no hidden gotchas and insurance tricks. They even accept debit cards. The deposit for most of the cars is 300 euros and it is returned to your card minutes after you return the car. All the cars I drove were less than two years old with very low mileage. Cars are washed on the spot, inside Guerin, and every time you take a car it is like a brand new car collection day. They even put some protection on the gear lever and the steering wheel so they don't get dirty. The cars also are very well looked after, with barely any scratches and dings. The tires were always in extermely good conditions and they did not have any rattles or other weird noises. The staff always walks around the car with you to check for any damage before you take the car away. They also have a lot of cars to choose from ranging from super small city cars to big luxury SUVs. I have been told that it is best to go to the counter directly to get best deals and prices. The rental prices are really good regardless. My favorite was definitely the Citroen Cactus as it was very fun to drive. They have an interesting selection of cars with many Japanese cars also. Overall, for Guerin Coimbra 5/5 stars on all counts, especially the super friendly staff. You will not make a mistake if you decide to rent here. Rarely you get to rent a car without any trouble and be worry-free, but Guerin Coimbra managed to do it every time.

Can't complain of the service we had at Coimbra branch. The staff were friendly and helpful. Happy with the vehicle and would recommend Guerin car rental. What I don't understand is that when I phoned Guerin they quoted me €299 for 9 days but ended up paying €209 through a third party booking on internet for the same period?????

One of the worst car companies in Coimbra, if not even the worst one. We wanted to rent a car with virtual creditcard(which on the web is avalaible). Our whole trip got ruined, please make clear your renting conditions on your web. Really bad experience.

Great cars at a bargain prices. I have rented multiple cars of Guerin the past few months and all of them were almost new (<10.000 kms). The staff is really friendly and helpful. The economy class can feel a bit underpowered (VW polo, Seat Ibiza, Renault Clio, Citroen C3), so if you like a bit more power I recommend the intermediate class (1-series). One of the better car rental experiences i've ever had.
