★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A bit vintage, in a building under renovation. Rooms are not bad, clean and with enough space. Wifi in the average. There are mosquitos, but also the poison to kill them. Location close to the sea and shops, as well as tram station. Staff nice and helpful

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Conveniently located in the city of Matosinhos near Porto, the staff were friendly and the common areas of the hotel (e.g. television lounge) were exceedingly well equipped and inviting. There was also free street parking during night hours nearby.
The hotel room was a bit drab compared to the common areas of the hotel, and the spring mattress creaked when moving around. Also the room was a bit small as was the wall-mounted television but this is moderately understandable considering the sub €35 double-room booked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good staff, the hotel is very good for the price. Yes a bit old fashioned but they're workin on it and by the time you'll read this review I believe that it'll look much better. Breakfast included of descent quality, I reccomend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel has a nice lobby and welcome. The room are simple and have a bed, table and clean WC/bathroom. The break is quiet okay, but is sufficient. It is 40-50mins away from downtown but a metro goes directly to downtown.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything about this hotel was excellent! The staff, the rooms, the food, and the shower was the best! Hotel Porto Mar is close to shopping and a wonderful little cafe called Cafeteria Mauricia. Also the Metro runs right in front of it. The beach and wonderful restaurants our only blocks away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very kind and helpful personnel. Rooms seem to have been renovated. Very simple but all well. The hotel must have been a fancy place about a century ago judging by the pictures of older times. Walk the stairs up and down, they are reminiscent of old Portugal..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ clean, friendly, good breakfast but no wifi in the room, you have to go to reception or media room to get it...you know like in some hostel in the 3rd world country...also loud if you get street view room. The tram goes right next to your balcony…hop over! Street noise is at all times, even during the night.
