A igreja anterior sofre duas destruições, a primeira em 1876 e a segunda causada por um incêndio em agosto de 1938, sendo então construída a nova igreja que foi terminada em 1951.
Sendo considerada numa dimensão muito superior ao necessário para os habitantes da aldeia, tem semelhanças com a Igreja Matriz de Mértola.
The current Church of São Domingos is on the site where there was a previous one from the 19th century, completed in 1863
The previous church suffered two destructions, the first in 1876 and the second caused by a fire in August 1938, then the new church was built which was completed in 1951.
Being considered in a much larger dimension than necessary for the inhabitants of the village, it has similarities with the Mother Church of Mértola.
