É uma Igreja tipicamente setecentista, com fachada simples e de empena triangular rematada por pináculos apresentando o símbolo das armas reais por cima da porta.
Arquitectura religiosa, barroca (o portal) , rococó (altar-mor) , neoclássica (altares laterais, decoração das paredes laterais da Capela-mor).
 The Church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo is located in the former site of the Santa Catarina Hermitage, built by the widow of Diogo Fernandes de Beja, captain of the Indian navy.
It is a typically 18th-century church with a simple façade and a triangular gable topped with pinnacles featuring the symbol of royal weapons above the door.
Religious architecture, baroque (the portal), rococo (main altar), neoclassical (lateral altars, decoration of the side walls of the main chapel).
