El cabildo conimbricense la entregó en 1237 a los pobladores de San Julián, momento en que el lugar iniciaría su despegue aprovechando su situación en la desembocadura del Mondego, lo que le supondrá también numerosos ataques en los siglos posteriores.
Nada queda de este pasado medieval de la iglesia parroquial, que fue completamente rehecha en el siglo XVIII. Las obras comenzaron en 1716, siendo de nuevo ampliada a finales de siglo una vez que Figueira da Foz se convierte en villa en 1771.
San Julián da Foz do Mondego is documented at the end of the 11th century: in 1080 Don Sisnando Davídiz, governor of Coimbra, orders to rebuild it, for having been destroyed by the Muslims, to an abbot Don Pedro who donates it to the Cathedral of Coimbra in 1096 .
The conimbricense council delivered it in 1237 to the inhabitants of San Julián, at which time the place would begin its take-off taking advantage of its situation at the mouth of the Mondego, which will also involve numerous attacks in later centuries.
Nothing remains of this medieval past of the parish church, which was completely redone in the 18th century. The works began in 1716, being enlarged again at the end of the century once Figueira da Foz became a villa in 1771.
