★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Imponente edifício e muito bem conservado. Vale a pena uma visita.
Igreja dedicada a S. Simão e S. Judas Tadeu.
Stunning building and very well maintained. Well worth a visit.

If you take the Way of St. James from Porto, it is very likely that you will walk around this picturesque church. At the time of my visit, the church was closed without information when the opening hours are. There are also beautiful gardens, which are not accessible. I had to settle for pictures of other people who were lucky and visited the gardens.

Beautifully situated church with adjacent lands. Behind the church is an almost completely intact aqueduct that arranged the water supply for the monastery. It is a pity that the church has only been open to a limited extent. The old gardens are unfortunately not free to visit.

Vale a visita.
Church built centuries ago of rare beauty, a pearl. Worth the visit. It is a pity that the convent building is abandoned and decrepit, in urgent need of repair and restoration.

A work that together with the adjacent monastery represent an admirable religious equipment. Too bad the monastery is so degraded and apparently abandoned.

A actual igreja paroquial data do séc. XVII e é dedicada a S. Simão e a S. Judas Tadeu.

The parish church is an imposing temple, with a beautiful and harmonious façade. It integrates two twin bell towers. Over the portico there is a very high oval window with a beautiful stained glass window. It is flanked by two niches with the images of Simão and S. Judas Tadeu.
In 1758 the curate João Antunes de Azevedo considered the church as 'one of the best in the province', referring to its eight altars: the high altar, with the patron saints, that of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, of S Teotónio, that of Santíssimo Sacramento, that of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, that of 5. José, that of Santo António and that of Santo Cristo.
Very old parish of S. Simão da Junqueira.
The current parish church dates from the 17th century. XVII and is dedicated to S. Simão and S. Judas Tadeu.
